Workplace bullying is typically a precursor for more serious incidents of aggression and violence in the workplace. If it is not recognized and addressed properly and in a timely manner it will escalate to other stages of aggression/violence progression. This course exposes the fundamental human characteristics of bullying and why it often goes unaddressed. It shares some revealing statistical and clinical data regarding its prevalence and costs, both direct and indirect. It describes the scope of the issue and the most common mistakes that employers make in dealing with this problem. Finally it reviews strategies for recognition of the problem and assertively managing its resolution. This is a must for any workplace violence prevention/education program.
